So they're building this new shopping mall near my house, Plaza Senderos. Construction began around March, I guess, and the first thing they put up were signs that said: "Grand Opening, October 31st".
Well sir, it is the 29th of October, and they've barely begun to put up the walls. Are these guys expecting to complete the entire mall in less than three days? I find that a wee bit impossible to accomplish.

I've got other examples of tardiness. At The place where I work, Rancho Paraiso, they're building these villas and penthouses that are called El Cielito. They were supposed to be completed this past July but, you guessed it, they're still under construction. In fact, they're going to have to tear down and rebuild some of the ramps they put up. Haven't these guys ever heard about measuring twice then cutting once?

But the big one is the remodeling of the Cárdenas Boulevard, which is were all the famous restaurants and nightclubs are. I guess you could compare it to the strip in Vegas. Anyway, back in 2006 the ministry decided to rebuild the outdated and inefficient sewer system, and move the power lines undergorund while they were at it. The street would have to be opened up, traffic wuld increase and buses would have had to be rerouted; but the results were worthwhile and the deadline acceptable.
They are now 9 months behind schedule! Half the street is still unusable, buses and cars are forced to take the long way round, small businesses on that street had to close down, and the whole thing is a damn eyesore! Cabo San Lucas has officially become the capital of unmet deadlines.

Seriously, these people must stop and think. If they're going to appoint a deadline, they have to make sure they have enough resources and manpower, if not, adjust the deadline accordingly; and for fekk's sake keep it! I'm not fond of adding twenty minutes to my commute because some idiot read the blueprints upside down!
